Circle
of Three: Enough Friendship to Go Around?
By Elizabeth Brokamp
The main characters in this story are Kate, Lindsey, and Bella, and
they are all best friends. Throughout the story the three friends deal with
jealously, feeling left out, their own problems, having to choose one friend
over the other, and new friends coming into their circle. The girls go through
all of these things, but also make amends, find solutions and become better
friends by the end. This book is a good novel for elementary children to read
because it would help them understand some of the feelings they may be
experiencing. As children grow up they may grow a part, be in different
classes, or make new friends. This story would enhance a child’s emotional
intelligence by allowing them to see how to deal with sharing friendships, and
gaining new friends too.
